Quote of the month:

There are two reasons for drinking [wine]...when you are thirsty, to cure it;  the other, when you are not thirsty, to prevent it...prevention is better than cure.

Hot on the heels of the phenomenal success of the 2008 and 2009 - Tight cherries from Geelong mixed with soft plums from Mt Gambier has created a wine with much more complexity than the sum of it's parts.

BK Wines One Ball Chardonnay $27

Rock n' Roll is the feel of Brendon Keys wines, and these are the wines you buy for an experience. 2011 was – for the most part - an average year for reds, but whites have unfortunately been tarred by the same brush, and the truth is there are some amazing wines, especially Riesling & Chardonnay. This is one to possibly put down for a year or two to see its complexity come to light, but a great modern chardonnay that should be drunk not to cold to see its true colours.

  Music

Florence + the Machine
Live at the Royal Albert Hall

Most would be aware of the magnificent golden tonsils of Florence Welch, but who could know how well their songs would translate into this Acoustic setting with an orchestra? The songs sound stripped, but are layered with a full sting orchestra and choir. The musical equivalent of our Ambriel's Gift 2010 – Elegant, complex, layered, bold, refined, and magic to the senses. Only available on Youtube I believe.
