Koonara Wines is proud to be at the forefront of organic viticulture. Our commitment to organic practices is not just about crafting superior wines; it’s about fostering a sustainable environment and enriching the terroir that sets our wines apart. Since achieving organic certification in 2017, we have been Coonawarra’s sole certified organic vineyard which allows us to produce a small range of certifed organic wines for your enjoyment.
OUR FAMILY HAS BEEN IN COONAWARRA SINCE 1906,
so I guess that means we are almost locals…
Koonara Wines was established in 1992
On vineyards, Dru planted with his father, Trevor, in the late 1980s. Dru lives on the property with his wife Nicole and their daughters Lucy and Alice.
WE ARE THE ONLY CERTIFIED ORGANIC VINEYARD IN COONAWARRA
and have been since 2017.
Our red vines are grown on famous terra rossa soil in Coonawarra
our whites and Pinot Noir are grown down the road in Mt Gambier – the coolest region in mainland Australia.
We believe in creating wines that are high quality and age-worthy.
All of our wines are vegan-friendly, low in sulphur and have Low to no residual sugar.
