Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of your day at the Dunkeld Races in the Koonara Wines Platinum Marquee.

📅 Date: Saturday 15th November 2025

🕐 Marquee Hours: 12:00pm – 5:30pm (bar closes approximately 10 minutes before the last race)

📍 Location: The Dunkeld Races are held at the picturesque Dunkeld Racecourse, nestled at the foot of Mt Abrupt in the stunning Grampians region. Our Marquee is located in the Centre Infield

🎯 Look for: We’re the only marquee in the infield – just look for the Koonara flags and archway!

Essential information

  • Download your General Admission ticket from either your email confirmation or your Country Racing account
  • Forward this information to all guests in your booking
  • You’ll need your General Admission QR code ticket to enter the racecourse

While the Dunkeld Races are known for their relaxed country vibe, the Koonara Wines Platinum Marquee maintains a smart racing dress code to keep things stylish

Gentlemen:

  • Collared shirt (not polo or sports shirts)
  • Tailored pants or dress shorts
  • Closed-toe dress shoes

Ladies:

  • Racing finest – headwear encouraged
  • Dresses, skirts, or tailored pants with blazers
  • Dress shoes

Strictly NO:

  • Denim, t-shirts, polo shirts, sports jerseys, thongs, runners, or board shorts

⚠️ Entry may be refused if dress code isn’t met. Don’t be that mate – dress to impress!

Style Bonus: We’ll have Rene Veno creating bespoke fashion illustrations of our most stylish guests on the day! 🎨

on race day

Head to the information booth next to the fashions area

  • Only the guest that has booked the tickets can collect wristbands for entry into the marquee
  • Distribute wristbands to all guests in your party
  • When collecting wristbands, please note wristbands are listed under the booking holder, not individual guest names.

If you’ve notified us of dietary needs:

  • Your dietary wristband will be included in your party’s wristband envelope at collection
  • Once you’ve arrived at the marquee, collect your special meal box that caters for your requirements from the bar
  • Haven’t told us yet? Email us or contact the racing club on 0427 227 144
  • Track crossing opens at 12:00 pm
  • Marquee opens: 12:00 pm
  • Marquee closes: 5:30 pm (bar closes approximately 10 minutes before the last race)
  • You must have your wristband for track crossing and marquee entry
  • Look for the Koonara flags and archway to enter!
  • Unisex toilets are located to the rear of the Marquee
  • There’s an unmanned cloakroom and refresh station at the rear of the marquee where you can leave your belongings and freshen up
  • There are bookmakers located in the Marquee
  • There are EFTPOS machines located on course, (not in our Marquee) however due to potential lengthy lines and limited internet at some venues, we encourage guests to arrive with cash for any race day purchases.
  • Your ticket to the Platinum Marquee is all-inclusive, so the only cash you might need is for betting, as well as additional food and drinks purchased prior to the marquee opening and after the marquee closes.
  • The Platinum Marquee is exclusive to our ticket holders only
  • Meeting friends with different tickets? You’ll need to arrange this in the outfield
  • Already notified us of dietary requirements? Make yourself known to Koonara staff on arrival

  • 🍔 Smoked chicken sliders with chipotle BBQ sauce, homemade ranch slaw and pineapple salsa
  • 🥙 Mini Lamb souvlakis with garlic yoghurt
  • 🦪 Oysters served with mushroom XO, fresh lemons and limes served on ice
  • 🥗 Rock ‘n’ Roll salad topped with pan fried dumplings and crispy shallots
  • 🍟 Fish and chips served with fresh lemon and homemade tartare
  • 😋 Mini Connoisseur ice creams with homemade toppings
    • Strawberry and white choc ganache, freeze dried raspberries
