    Ambriels Gift Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

    ,
No expense has been spared to make the best wine possible: these grapes were grown with only organic additions in the vineyard (for the past ten years), and minimal intervention, with only 4 organic sprays for the season. “Low yields across an organic certified vineyard, have resulted in a deep concentration of fruit, balanced and  the choice of well coopered French oak (18 months), detail, a fleck of cedar and focus. The fruit, ferrous and free-flowing, serves as a beam of blackcurrant, blueberry, graphite, olive and a potpourri of herb and leaf across the finish. The tannins are shapely and moreish; svelte for cabernet, and daubed in sage. The oak rises across the finish auguring for a long future ahead, yet there is nothing obtuse. We believe this is exceptional Coonawarra.” Low sulphur - Organically grown - Vegan friendly - No residual sugar

    Cape Banks Chardonnay 2015

    ,
The grapes for this cool-climate Chardonnay are grown in Mount Gambier, the coolest mean maximum temperature average of any wine region in mainland Australia. 50% of the wine was matured in new French oak Hogshead barrels for 4 months, which brough on a malo-latic ferment (2nd ferment) changing the malo acids into lactic acid the same as in milk and butter giving it a creamy mouth feel. The remaining 50% of the wine was fermented with select year. This single ferment keeps the crisp lime, pink lady apple and mineral notes. This is 'left on lees' (the dead yeast after ferment) and is stirred to increase flavours and complexity.

    Guardian Angel Sparkling Chardonnay 2019

    , ,
Mount Gambier is the coolest region on the mainland of Australia, allowing flaavours in the grapes to develop longer while still keeping their crispneess. This produces rich lemon and lime Chardonnay. A complexity of minerality, flavours and a long finish. "Strong aromas of ripe Fuji apples with a hint of citrus peel, great mousse, a good dose of sweetness on the front palate with liverly ripe apple flavours with just a trace of musk on the finish. Complex, unusual and yummy" Dan Traucki, Wine Writer 2019

    RSV Shiraz 2016

    ,
A special release, this was the last vintage before our winemaker sold his vineyard. No residual sugar and below organic levels fo sulphur. This wine has been aged for 3 years in French hogshead barrels, giving this wine time to develop a huge complexity of mulbrerries, vanilla and spice. With a hing of dark chocolate. 2016 was an amazing year and one that will age well until 2029.

Lucy & Alice, Pinot Gris 2019

    ,
Crisp pink lady apples, white peach and grapefruit zet. As it warms in the glass, hints of honey and peach flesh shine through. Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris are the same grape variety. Pinot Grigio is Italian, Pinot Gris is French. "Grigio' and "Gris" both mean grey, which is the hue present in the colour of the grapes. Winemakers in Australia describe Gris as a late picked, more complex wine with crisp acidity.

Small batch and family made wines

We are proudly a small family owned winery based in Coonawarra. Our Coonawarra vineyards produce organically grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, which are planted on Coonawarra’s famous red terra rossa soil.

Just 90km down the road our Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Sparkling Chardonnay, Chardonnay, Rosé, Riesling, and Pinot Noir grapes are grown in Mount Gambier – ‘the coolest region in mainland Australia’. The long growing period allows these grapes to develop an abundance of flavours without losing their crisp freshness.

A Certified Organic Vineyard since 2017

We grow our grapes chemical free and have done so for over 10 years. In 2017 we received certification from the Australian Certified Organic Standards for our Coonawarra Vineyard.

Finding new ways to reduce our impact on the land is very important to us. We grow selected flowers to attract ‘good bugs’ that eat our ‘bad bugs’. We also spend as much time focused on what’s under the ground – soil heath helps keep our vines strong, so pests and disease have less impact. Find out more about how we are working to reduce our impact on the planet with our spray program.

Preservative Free Wine

Sulphur in wine is used as a preservative and helps kill unwanted yeasts, bacteria, and protects wine from oxidation. Too much sulphur in wine can give people allergies and headaches – that’s why all our wines are made with below organic levels of sulphur, less than 100ppm. Australian Food standards allow for a maximum of 250ppm in dry wine, and up to 300ppm for sweet wines.

No Residual Sugar in our Wines

There is no residual sugar in any of our red and white wines. They still taste sweet, showing perfect balance in our vineyards.

* The exception to this is in our Moscato, and just a touch in our Sparkling Shiraz. With these two exceptions, our wines are completely diet friendly; including Ketogenic.

All our wines are vegan friendly and gluten free.
