Rouge Vintner Wine Glass Gift Box (set of 4 glasses)

    ,
The Rouge Vintner glassware range is for the wine obsessed. Designed by our very own Dru Reschke, after 20 years in the wine industry he wanted to create a glass that was not only beautiful but practical. Each glass has been coated with potassium salt which typically gives the glass 5 times the strength of a normal glass – this makes them suitable for use in domestic and commercial dishwashers. The rim has been cold cut and polished, this allows each glass to not only be fine and lightweight but also very strong and durable. Each gift box contains 4 glasses and makes an excellent wedding, engagement or Christmas present.

    Dru's checklist:

Why has it been so hard to find a wine glass that’s just right for both red and white? One that is big, but can still fit in the dishwasher. One that gives precisely five glasses from each bottle without needing a line. One with a fine rim, but 5 x stronger than normal glass. When I couldn’t find that glass, I designed it myself.

    Glass features:

    • A fine cold-cut lip
    • 5 x stronger than normal glass
    • Ideal for both red & white wine
    • The widest point is 150ml (5oz) for maximum aeration
    • Exactly 5 glasses from every bottle

Lucy & Alice, Pinot Gris 2018

    , ,
Named after our two beautiful daughters. Crisp pink lady apples, white peach and grapefruit zest. As it warms in the glass, hints of honey and peach flesh shine through. Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris are the same grape variety. Pinot Grigio is Italian, Pinot Gris is French. “Grigio” and “Gris” both meaning grey which is the hue present in colour of the grapes. Winemakers in Australia describe Gris as a late picked, more complex, wine with crisp acidity. Download tasting notes PDF – 2018 vintage Download tasting notes PDF – 2016 vintage

    Angel’s Peak, Coonawarra Shiraz 2016

    , ,
New release, and new label design! The painting of the wings was a 1.8m creation Dru did especially for the label. The name ‘Angels Peak’ is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the lack of ‘peaks’ in the very flat Coonawarra. No residual sugar, below organic levels of sulphur, 18 month in 100% French Oak Barrels (20% new). This wine has seamless mint dark chocolate and coffee notes, over silky mulberries and molasses. Lift this bottle to the light and try to see through the neck. The density of colour shows the quality of the grapes that went into this wine. Since flavour and deep colour in Shiraz comes from the skin, we grow our grapes smaller, about the size of a pea. Food match: Char-grilled eye fillet with wasabi and mascarpone soft cheese. 5 star and Equal Top In Category, Winestate Magazine 2018 Download tasting notes PDF – 2015 vintage Download tasting notes PDF – 2014 vintage

We love the people who make the journey to come and visit our cellar door in Coonawarra; they have Wanderlust. They are the daring explorer, the lover of life with tales of adventures and experiences from their many trips. This wine’s for you, intrepid travellers... Decanting this wine for an hour will allow you to see the true depth of flavour, but also show you that this wine is almost unique at this price - in that it will get better over 10 years. No residual sugar, below organic levels of sulphur, and organically grown. The dense fruit and the soft tannins with allow this wine to age well until 2030. “Slightly porty notes to the intense sweet cassis fruit nose and lovely blackcurrant juiciness on the warming palate with its fine tannins and as one judge described – “salivating acidity”.” - Winestate Magazine 2018 5 Star and Equal Top In Category, Winestate Magazine 2018 Download tasting notes PDF – 2015 vintage Download tasting notes PDF – 2014 vintage

    Flowers for Lucy, Moscato 2018

    , ,
Three days a week our two little girls would stroll into the Cellar Door to say hello, and almost always they were holding flowers picked along the way. Alice’s flowers would proudly go to her Mum, while Lucy’s - with her arm out stretched proudly - went to me. “These are for you Dad,” she’d say. One day - when she is old enough to enjoy in moderation - the burst of floral flavours in this Moscato will be my flowers to her. Dru and Nicole Reschke. Great balance of sweetness and refreshing lime, Flowers for Lucy has low alcohol – making it easier to have a glass or two before or after dinner. Food match: Summer berry trifle and homemade icecream.
